hope they help you too.
okay so. no experts here. just a few things that actually help - the doable kind. tired, busy, having a bad week? still works. that's the whole point.
1. drink the water. eat the food. sleep. š·
when did you last eat something real? be honest. you take care of everything and everyone, and somewhere in there you skip you. then it's 11 pm, and everything feels broken - and honestly? half of that is just a tired, hungry body. before fixing your whole life tonight, fix dinner. that counts too.
reminder: I'm allowed to take up time.
2. just say thank you š¤
someone says something nice, and it gets swatted away - "oh, this? it's so old." like compliments have to be returned unopened. they don't. keep one. next time try just "thank you," nothing after. feels weird for three seconds. keep it anyway.
reminder: I'm allowed to be seen.
3. say no without the essay š·
that message you've been drafting - explaining, apologizing, softening one tiny no. rewritten five times. delete it. the people who love you never needed the essay. send the short version. breathe.
reminder: no is a full sentence.
4. mute what makes you feel behind š¤
you know which account it is. the movie-trailer life, the timeline you're "supposed" to be on. you don't even have to unfollow - just mute, quietly. in a week you'll forget they exist and your head gets so much quieter. you're not behind. you were never behind.
reminder: I choose what I let in.
5. sit down before everything is done š·
waiting to rest till things settle? things don't settle. the list refills itself - that's literally what lists do. put rest on the list, somewhere in the middle, like it matters. because it does. the dishes have never once been angry about waiting.
reminder: rest is not a reward. it's mine.
6. talk to yourself like your best friend would š¤
if your best friend heard what your inner voice says at 2am? they'd have words with it. so, one small technique: catch one mean thought today - just one - and ask, "would I say this to someone I love?" that's it. start there.
reminder: I speak to myself like a friend.
that's it. that's the list.
six small things, done imperfectly, on the days you remember. miss all of them for a week? nothing breaks. this page isn't going anywhere.
come back on the hard days.Ā
